Medical Evaluation & Treatment

If you are experiencing a sexual concern, you need a knowledgeable and experienced professional in the field of sexual medicine.  You can find caring people with this experince at the Methodist Sexual Health Clinic in Omaha, NE.

Sexual medicine is a branch of medicine which specializes in human sexuality and sexual disorders.

The first appointment at the Sexual Medicine and Wellness Center will include a thorough personal history and pelvic exam, which will check for any physical changes that may be diminishing your sexual enjoyment, such as thinning of your genital tissues, decreased skin elasticity, scarring or pain. Medical tests may be recommended to accurately diagnosis specific concerns.

Medical Tests that May be Recommended

Vaginal pH testing is commonly performed by gynecologists and urologists to detect bacteria-causing vaginitis. Decreasing hormone levels and diminished vaginal secretion associated with menopause cause a rise in pH (over 5), which is easily detected.

Biothesiometer is a small painless device used to assess the sensation in the clitoris and labia.

Vaginal ultrasounds can be used to examine abnormal pelvic growths and to determine the source of painful cramps or other pain in the pelvic area, unexplained vaginal bleeding or lack of menstrual flow.

After a thorough diagnostic assessment, which may also include lab work, you can expect an indiviualized treatment plan. A list of possible treatments are listed below. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment.
