"The Talk: Getting Through the Sexual Minefield"

Talking to your kids about sex can be overwhelming, embarrassing, and confusing. If you're looking for guidance, join us for a night of sexual health education from leading experts.

Whether you're preparing for the first "sex talk" with your child or continuing the ongoing conversation with new information, we're prepared to help. The SMWC clinic and Camp Fire USA are co-sponsoring a community benefit for both parents and kids, to help increase positive, ongoing communication about sex. A team of expert speakers are separately addressing parents and kids groups (ages 10-13 and 14-18) with developmentally appropriate information. Depending on which age group your child will participate, topics will cover puberty & biological changes, relationships, sexual orientation, STDs, contraception, the practice of condom use and dispelling condom myths, pregnancy, and more.
